Information You Choose to Submit
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Hoke County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy policy controls the query after submission.
If you send an email or use an available contact form, we retain the message and the contact details needed to answer it. We do not share a contact message outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Technical Data Collected During a Visit
Like most websites, the service may record routine details when a page loads:
- The internet protocol address associated with the request
- Browser name, type, and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied
- Dates and timestamps for requests
Cookies and similar tools help measure how visitors move through the site. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, though some functions may then behave differently.
Reasons We Use Collected Data
Information is used only for operating, measuring, and supporting the service. Those uses include:
- Keeping pages available, responsive, and secure
- Sending a search request to the provider selected by the visitor
- Learning which Hoke County record guides are useful
- Diagnosing errors and correcting technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests
Privacy on Linked Record Sources
Pages link to Hoke County sheriff and jail resources, NCDAC systems, court portals, release records, and independent search tools. Government access to North Carolina records may arise under Chapter 132, including G.S. 132-6, but that public-record law does not replace the privacy terms of an external website. Once a visitor follows a link, the receiving site's policy controls its collection and use of data.
Some advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select advertisements. That processing occurs on their systems rather than ours.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Search partners that process a visitor's submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and use
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure advertisements
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order
Security Is a Best-Effort Practice
We use ordinary safeguards intended to protect information under our control. No internet connection, website, storage system, or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, lost, or accessed improperly.
This Service Is for Adults
Hoke County Released Inmates is intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Choices About Your Information
Subject to applicable law and the information actually held, a visitor may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data we maintain
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete personal information in our possession
- Opt out of certain processing when that right applies
Changes to This Privacy Notice
We may revise this notice when site practices, services, or legal duties change. The updated version takes effect when it is posted here with a new effective date.
